There’s Nothing Wrong In Panic Buying, But

This pandemic has started to affect the lives of more than 140 countries currently. Fresh cases are coming from one the most densely populated country, India I mean. There have been surge here in the positive cases within the past few days and currently 75 cities are in a complete lockdown.

I’m residing in Kerala, an Indian State, and we are in the second rank of most cases identified. But there are certainly many steps taken here to contain it but it fell out of hand when few who quarantined just escaped, yeah escaped!!! And today Chief Minister declared complete state lockdown.

So what does come in your mind hearing the word lockdown? Yeah, we’ll surely start to worry about our food stock and just phewww… we reach the supermarket at an incredible speed, toss whatever we see into the cart and bill it waiting hours. ‘Panic buying’ is not a racist term, coz it’s equally affecting all, even the highly educated, elite classes and super rich. Our minds are designed to be panic and not to consider others in a situation like this. I know that you have gone across many articles related to this topic but there’s something that we must understand.

Suppose you’re in a supermarket and it’s been declared that from tomorrow it’ll be a total lockdown in your state, but it’s been told that all essential stores will be open for a week. What will you do? Just think, analyse or for sure you may have gone through this right. Now I’ll say that you must have bought for example, twice the toilet paper you usually buy, or sometimes you’ve added double the quantity of groceries you usually buy. Okay that’s normal right? I mean that’s how a single persons purchasing power goes at the time of pandemic. I too purchased double the quantity of what I usually take even though I have read hundreds of article about panic buying. I had even suggested my fellow human beings not to be like that just before my puchase.

So what went through my mind, even though I know everything about it. What happened to my good brain? and why did I at the first place just asked my friends from refraining panic buy. Hey!!! I knew what went through my mind and I suggest you to keep this whenever you face a situation like these.

[Location : India]I had taken a rough figure of how much customers were inside the department. The figure goes 76 or somewhat that range. Out of this 72 customers were in a mood to just take away the full sack of rice(if they can). But I noticed that they were purchasing sacks of 25kg, mean many of them. 25kg is not that small okay? The reason why they are taking a high quantity rice sack is because other lower quantities went out of stock, but they were not reluctant to take the remaining stock even though the price was more than double.

So in the above situation nearly 95% people were attacking the main essential food. What’s the point I’m talking here? If you belong to the remaining 5%, bad luck guys because the product is out of stock. So this is what I’m trying to tell. If you find that more than 85% customers are attacking on basic necessity, you must too attack on it. You must attack it and try to distribute it to the people remaining with nothing. There’s no time to think. Yeah you can sense a smell of greediness in me, but I’m talking straight facts. The customers who will be coming after you too will be of this nature. There is no point in lecturing people about panic buying in a situation like this. Even the person who talked about the issue will be panting like anything in the situation above.

Evolution takes time, especially your habitual evolution. Co-operation is the only way to discourage this behaviour. And even if 30% are not supporting to this theory, then the entire system will go unstable. So of your locality is not supporting “against panic buying” movement, there is no point in lecturing them, instead try stocking yourself. Habitual evolution must take place, and only then there is a solution to it.

So what’s the moral of the story?

Panic Buy If That’s a Condition and Distribute All You Can. Thus You Indirectly Eliminated Those Panic Buyers.

You have seen a video of nurse being emotional in Britain and this is the sad case of panic buying.
